I can not even believe That Broke Blonde has been live for officially one month!! Part of me feels like I have been blogging forever, while the other part of me feels like I am constantly learning and feeling absolutely clueless!
In my first month blogging I have learned a few key things I would share with ladies and gentleman who are considering starting their own blogs (and I hope to learn even more as more time goes by!)
1. IT IS A LOT MORE WORK THAN IT SEEMS
I have a part time job at a boutique, a part time job as a personal stylist online, and the blog. This may sound easy to handle, but between my part time job at the boutique and my personal stylist job, finding time to write blog posts is really hard! Bloggers who blog full time that everyone follows on social media make it look so easy, but I have to tell my boyfriend to take a step back a lot because he wants to spend quality time together but I have too much to work on. If you aren't completely dedicated to your blog, you will not make the time for it that you need to make. (Love my boyfriend for ALL he does to support me and my blog!!)
2. YOU WILL ANNOY YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY WITH HOW OFTEN YOU ASK THEM TO TAKE YOUR PICTURE
MY boyfriend takes 99% of my photos. Either with my nicer camera or his iPhone 7 (wishing I had one for so many aspects of blogging!). We are out and about, just grabbing ice cream, and I obviously ask him to snap a pic. We can be sitting on the couch and I can come up with an idea and ask him to snap some pics outside our apartment. I know I drive him crazy, but I know he will help me out, so I can not thank him enough for the support he has shown me.
3. YOU CAN'T BE INSECURE
I was super insecure when starting my blog. I thought I wouldn't get enough followers or enough likes and I would just look stupid, and that isn't the case at all! The blogging community is an incredible community of people who truly want each other to succeed. None of them want for their blog and their blog alone to succeed. They all want success for their neighbor. Everyone is open to giving advice and helpful hints.
4. NEVER HESITATE TO REACH OUT TO MORE EXPERIENCED BLOGGERS
Every blogger I have sent messages to have had a nice reply for me. Wether it was overly helpful or not, they are always kind and give you something to go off of. I have been learning this blogging thing as I am going with no background in computers, website design, technology, blogging, any of it! I have reached out to some bloggers on occasions asking questions and everyone is always nice.
5. BLOGGER COMMUNITIES ARE REAL
I have realized that I just might meet my best friend because of blogging. Bloggers are so sweet to one another and once you start talking and then potentially meet up for coffee you could potentially meet your future best friend. This community of people is so kind, uplifting, and supportive you have nothing to worry about when starting your own blog!
I cannot wait to see what this next month has in store for me and my blog! So excited to keep sharing with you babes!
