You never know how many opportunities you will have to be in a new place for a significant amount of time. I am in CO, but who knows how long or short this will last? I sure don't! I was thinking about it and decided to make a bucket list of things I want to do here while I live in this state! (no particular order)
1. Yoga On The Rocks
Red Rocks hosts a lot of concerts and other things in their beautiful amphitheater, but one of the ones I want to attend the most is the Yoga on the Rocks. You go to Red Rocks and do yoga with thousands of other yogi's! Young and old, expert and newby, everyone joins bright and early saturday morning to do some refreshing yoga hosted by a different studio each month!
2. Concert at Red Rocks
You could say I just really like Red Rocks... Which is so true! We go there often when we are looking for a close hike to home! I have heard so many amazing things about concerts here and I just feel like I'm not a true resident of CO if I don't make it out to a concert! Lucky for me, we bought tickets to a two day show! Stay tuned this summer to see what show we get to go to to knock this one off my list!
3. Avalanche Game
Growing up in MN with two older brothers, I grew up playing and loving the sport of hockey. I would love to make it to at least one Colorado Avalanche game this year, but it would be an even bigger hit on my bucket list if I could see them play the Minnesota Wild! The Pepsi Center looks like a great arena and I can't wait to (hopefully) see inside!
4. Camp (at least once)
Although I look like a girly girl, I grew up with brothers so that isn't always the case. I would love to camp here in the mountains at least once this summer. The biggest issue I have with this is bugs (spiders and mosquitoes), snakes (hate them all), and not having a toilet to do my business in! I have been on some awesome hikes that can only get better by turing it into a camping trip!
5. Sunset and Sunrise hikes
I would LOVE to make my boyfriend wake up super early, drive us out to the mountains, and hike up to see an amazing sunrise with mountain scenery. You see photos of it, but I would love to see the real thing! And I would also love to leave later for a hike one day, and hike up to the top to watch the sun set (with a picnic and bottle of red wine). I don't think anything could top that, but we will see!
6. Ski or Snowboard
Before moving out here I had come out as a child with my family for spring break. I learned to ski in a class and we skid in Breckenridge. While this was awesome, I never did it again at home. I tried snowboarding once, and I ended up with a concussion.. But I think I am ready to give them another try! Not sure which I would like to try yet, so all suggestions are very welcome!
7. Cliff Jump
I am not a heights person.. at all.. but I really want to give cliff jumping a try! We met a couple on one of our hikes who showed us a video of them at a great cliff jumping location near us. Ever since I saw that video I decided we needed to give it a try!
8. White Water Raft
I have always wanted to try white water rafting out, but the closest thing you could do in MN was canoe. Now that I love somewhere that this is a much more regular thing, I need to start looking into it!
9. Run a CO Half Marathon
I ran my first half marathon in MN last year and it was such a rush! I want to run them all over the country and the world if I can. What better state to move on to than my new home state, CO! I am searching for the best time and race to run!
10. HIKE HIKE HIKE
All I want to do is hike as much as I possibly can! We have done one absolutely incredible hike and I just want to keep on doing it! The every day hikes are nice, but I am a Minnesota girl, I need water. The hikes that end in lakes with mountain views are seriously the best part about this state!
As I attempt to knock these off my list I will be keeping you all updated! I am so excited to hopefully rock them all!
