After spending an amazing weekend in my new home with my mom, I thought I would do a post dedicated to her and our weekend together. I am so incredibly blessed to have the most amazing mom in the world and I don't think I tell her enough!
As girls, I think we are so lucky. We are born with a best friend who will be there for us for the rest of our lives. I feel like I am one of the luckiest girls in the world because my mom truly is my best friend. We have our ups and downs, as any relationship does, but when it comes down to it, there is no one out there I love more than my mom! She supports all of the crazy ideas I have in my mind and she is always there for me when I fall. She is the greatest shoulder to cry on and ear to vent to. I have loved living in this new state, I feel so blessed to get this experience, but I miss my mom more than anything. I can not wait for her next visit to Denver!
Here is what we did:
Concert at Red Rocks - We saw a Beatles Tribute Band and it was honestly the most fun show ever! They were so good and so entertaining and I was so excited to take my mom to a concert at Red Rocks for her first time! (Helped her knock it off her bucket list just like I did mine!) It was crazy windy, but an amazing time none the less!
Lily Lake & Hiking in Estes Park, CO - This lake was so incredibly beautiful, as Minnesotans we always manage to find the water in a state that has so much less than we are used to!
The Stanley Hotel - In Estes Park you can stay at, tour, or just walk around the Stanley Hotel. For those who don't know about this hotel, it was Stephan Kings inspiration for his book, The Shining. It is said to be haunted. (I didn't do the tour because I was way too afraid of it being true!) We did get amazing drinks called Redrum Punch. If you have seen the movie or read the book The Shining you would totally get it! If you haven't, you need to look into them! This hotel was also used in the filming of Dumb and Dumber. Another amazing movie!
Winery in Estes Park - On our way home from the Stanley Hotel we drove past a little winery in Estes Park. Needless to say, we stopped. We all got a sampler of wines and they did it so cute, I have never seen anything like it! They had a tree of wine and you made your way from the top of your tree to the bottom. It was the cutest little place and they had some awesome wines!
Denver Beer Co. - This is one of my favorite spots in Denver. They have to best beer and the best setting. They are the most dog friendly spot in the city (in my opinion) and you honestly can't go wrong with any of their beers! We walked down here from my apartment on Saturday to try some beer before we began our Saturday evening!
Bigsby's Folly - Another one of my favorite spots, but this one is a winery, not a brewery! The outside of this building makes you think you are at an old warehouse, but when you go inside you are absolutely blown away! They have to cutest decor and some amazing food and drink options. They do wine fantastic and they also do amazing food. Lukas always gets an old fashion which is also amazing here! This is a must see spot if you live or are ever in Denver! The do growlers of wine, which if you ask me, is the most amazing thing in the world!
I could not have asked for a better weekend with my favorite person in the world! I owe the weekend to her, she treated all of us way more than she should have! I can't wait to come up with more outings and to get her back out here as soon as possible! Dropping her off at the airport was the hardest thing this morning, I miss her so much already, but I will force her out here again soon.
I not only owe her for the weekend but for everything she always does for me. I have no clue where I would be without her, she is the most incredible person and my best friend in the whole world.
Thank you for everything, mom! You are the best!
